Well havent been out much since my heart attack in March. But Sunday i called a my hunting buddy jim to get out. After clearing with wives we got out to a field he had permission to hunt. This was second time in this place, first time only coins found wascouple wheats and i pulled a nicer 1871 indian. This day was about same not much lots of junk wheats and i got a 1899 barber quarter which was nice. The field was corn and cut stocks all over getting ready to leave to go somewhere else, so headed back to jeep. Was getting late didnt have much time to go somewhere else so we just stayed there. Started working the erea where indian came from slowed way down and hit this deep signal, nothing special didnt sound super but locked on about 7-8 inches deep. after digging the corn cobbs out of the hole ran machine over signal was gone. Well that usually meens its in dirt at bottem of hole so pulled that out. Ran machine over and there it was in last bunch of dirt. Got pinpointer out and found it i thought a charm was black, i picked up and rubbed and saw that wonderful cross on it , well almost had another heart attack. I turned to jim who was aways away from me yelling you will never guess what i found a spanish cobb. Was very unexpected. So that was the excitement of the day. Not sure date , will try to find out later.

Was told it could be a carlos 2 1655-1700 mexico mint.

I don't know very much about these but I was thinking it was circa 1700.

This is still on my list but near impossible to find where I am, but I live in hope. CONGRATS

I think the exciting part is that you found a very old spanish coin in New Jersey. Great find.
