Saturday I convinced Goldmojo to go back out there with me.

We zipped down the hill on our mountain bikes. it's pretty fun on the way down, not so much on the way back but I don't mind. I just count it as excise and Lord knows we all need more of it.

It was fairly hot, upper 90's. but we had an early start and in this spot a water release usually flushes you out by noon.

hit up the spot and I started to work the hole I started yesterday and Mojo went off prospecting.

I got about and 1hr of panning in. but then when the sun finally illuminated a shallow stretch of bedrock that I had eyed the day before. I put away the pan and changed into my new 7mil wetsuit for my very first attempt at sniping!

It was so nice to be laying in the cool water rather than digging in the sun. I even found a little gold doing it!

I was only in the water for an 1hr. even though I found 3 pieces of gold sniping I wasn't pulling what i was from the gold pan per hr or so 7 thought.... took off the suit and went back to my panning.

I only got 1 more hr in before the water release.... in fact the water was much higher all the way around then the day before. checked the charts and it's very iratic....that the major down side to this area. lots of gold..but high water in general and frequent un predictable water releases...

.14 for 1 1/2 hrs of panning and .7 for 1hr sniping. .21g in total for 2 1/2 hrs..close call....

on a brighter note...guess who found himself some killer paydirt prospecting after work this week? yup....me!

with all the ugliness in the world today, it's nice to get out in the river and dig treasure out of the ground. No people and there agendas to deal with...it's like this thing I heard about once called freedom..

A fish oil cocktail and I'm sure he will be ok. Just think of all the time he got to go out mining. I'm sure he will have some good stories when he returns.

Back by popular demand...or not.

Took a good long break from Tnet, It was just out of control. Hopefully the BS doesn't rear it's ugly head again.

While I was was on a break from Tnet I wasn't on a break from mining gold. I had set my season goal at 20g. I fell a bit short but am proud of what I got. I would have made it but things got busy at work early this year, so some of the vacation days that were to be used for gold getting didn't get used..Oh well, still got the hrs so this year I'm gonna spend em earlier lol.

Didn't really take many pictures since I didn't plan to post but here is the season total gold porn pics.

2017 goal is 25g

mtts, that is some might pretty looking Yellow you have there and I'd say Well Done even if you did not reach your goal for 2016.

I can understand about work taking time away from hard work, aka prospecting, as that is where I've been now for three years. I hope the snows are out of the NorCal mountains come 4th of July as if not then my planned vacation hours will also not be used.

There are several places in the mountains I would like to visit this summer though all of my plans will depend on Weather and water conditions along with taking care of business at my day job as that is what keeps all of this going, at least for now. I will post any experiences I have on Tnet so I hope to add to everyone's enjoyment................63bkpkr
