Need help identifying bird figurine? Date?

There is no description on the bottom or anywhere. Found at a 1930's era homesite, reminds me of a possible game piece, or an emblem off a vehicle? Any help will be appreciated.

It does resemble a cassowary bird indeed!! I've been all over the internet and ebay searching for exactly what it is....with no luck. I agree with you Subterranean, game piece was my first guess. Thanks for replying!
