I would think it had something to do with Canada as the Beaver is their National Animal....That is one excellent find! and I mean Excellent!

Aside from it being a teapot with a beaver on it, I cannot help with the identification. But it is a great piece and probably at least 75 - 100 years old. Just a guess. Is there anything on the bottom such as makers marks, name, etc that might help with identification. I agree with Gyspy Elf in that it is in excellent condition for being in a river bank dump site.

If you go to google and type in Antique Road Show there should be an address. You may be able to get some one there to look at your attachment and give you an ID.

After cleaning some of the burned soot/dirt of bottom i can make out something like hudso??/
and either an oy or ay .. could it be hudson bay stuff???????????

thanks, it looks to be the exact same as the one that i have.
i replaced the iron rivets in the handle as they were rusted away. and boiled it in water with some detergent for a few hours and soaked it in olive oil for more than a month and boiled it again in detergent, it cleaned up pretty good.
