For starters I have never posted on this forum but when I lived on the farm I collected fossils when we picked up the rocks in the fields and they were all coral. I now live in Northeastern lower Michigan on the Lake Huron shore. I found this hard stone rock with some fossils in it and had to keep it. I would like to know what you think they might be. It looks like it might be some sort of clam shells but I have no clue. Thanks for any help in solving this mystery.

I can't help you with ID, but I would have kept it too. Interesting . I'm sure someone will be able to help. If you are interested in ID'ing your finds, you might want to invest in the National Audubon Societies Guide to Fossils. It's a good one to have on hand.

Just from my observation it does not look like a fossil, JMO. Hard to say, but possibly some type of natural occurrence like another larger rock hitting it and spalling it off. :icon_scratch:
