I know that this bottle isnt too old but i never seen one like it before, it has a glass tongue built into the inside of the jar, it is about 2 1/2 inches tall and the only markings are on the bottom which is the word patent then the number, any help would be great. Man am I an idiot lol, I looked up the patent number and it's an ink bottle, patented in 1927, used up into the 50,s

Correct! An ink well.
You tipped the jar to fill the well, then filled your pen from the well. Used them in school.
Boy do I feel old!
