Need Information on starting up kids in the hobby

Hey T'netters, I am thinking about making a coins for kids campaign. The purpose is to connect kids with metal detecting and possibly bring it into the schools. So many kids just go home for the summer and watch TV or go to the sitters. My goal: Teach Kids about the Hobby through practice and hands on learning Experiences, I want to call it COLAA creating Outdoor Learning Experiences for All Ages. Has anyone done a program that can help me with the start up part? I am open to any suggestions or constructive criticism.
