Slow day some muscovite was looking for quartz will this lead to colored gems

My area we find green quartz, smoky,clear and yellow found a few of each lotsa stuff unsure of we have lot of mica and musavite really interesting stuff just wish I could identify everthing better

No worries. It sounds like your in an area with a pretty rich mineral composition. Based on that what your holding looks like massive quartz with a lot of iron rich material in it. When I first saw the picture I figured the bits might have come from a mine dump. I've seen a lot of similar material on old dumps. Thru me that you were looking for mica minerals while showing the specimine. A closer picture would help but I suspect its just what I've said. Better mica specimines like what your looking for are easier pickings if you can find granite's in the area as well.

They are putting in2 more lanes of us58 about 2 miles up from my house lotsa of dirt being exposed might give an idea whats through here we've always found quartz we just don't plow anymore harder to find a vien Thanks for the reply

:) Hehh! Keep an eye on the road cut. Always nice to have the Highway department do the heavy work for ya. Cant say how many times I've pulled over to speck a cut. Sometimes you get lucky.
