Need your help finding collector of hat plates

I found this war of 1812 hat plate about 8 years ago. I sold it to a guy that collects war mem. And shows them at shows in the south. He wrote a book on these plates and referenced me as the person who found this hat plate.

I only sold it because I had no real way to preserve it because it was very fragile. I sold it knowing that it would be part of a collection that would keep its history alive. I know that I have seen it on web sites as part of a collection but I forgot the guy’s name. Anyone know who this guy is? I would like to get a copy of his book that shows me as the guy that found it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure, but I think the book might be American Military Headgear Insignia (2004) by J. Duncan Campbell & Michael J. O'Donnell.
