dang, thought it was smaller. 5 x 7 would be better for the tight spots.

Oh well, I'll be sitting out this upgrade. Maybe someday they'll come out with a small coil.

Hey George, great info! So it says that the current coils will work with v4, but not support the new frequencies that v4 adds. The new 6x9 will support the new frequencies.

Any word on if the 9" and 11" coils sold after the v4 release will support the new frequencies? I'm wondering since my Deus arrives tomorrow with an 11" coil and it'll be a real bummer if 3 months from now the 11" hardware changes to support new frequencies with v4.

Yes, all the coils will work.
But the new coil will have more options.

"Multi freq." - does that mean multiple frequencies simultaneously or just able to run different frequencies separately?

From Andy Sabisch three days ago:

"Not to start a heated debate but the new coil is not a multi-frequency coil . . . . . and the size is 6"x9" so not really intended to be a sniper coil but rather a general purpose coil that will address some issues in searching salt water beaches and alkalai sites.

The V4.0 software will compliment the new coil but will work with existing coils (although some options will be grayed out when using the older coils)."

Yes. It will be running higher freq.
What will help with the saltwater, and minerals.

There is a lot of good info in the xp forums at findmall.com regarding the new coil and update.
