Hi y'all. New member from Texas. Just wanted to share a pic of finds in my back yard. I live on the Bayou that feeds Caddo Lake. Thank you for your time. God Bless.
Yeah. Not too bad. Mainly surface finds. This property has been in my family for bout 40 years. Big Cypress Bayou in the front and Beckham Creek behind. More of a swamp . Benton steamboat landing around 1840 or so. Before Jefferson became the major steamboat port. Thanks for comments. God Bless.

Any where around Caddo Lake is a great spot. There has been large numbers of artifacts found in that area, some super fine pottery vessels. Welcome to T-netand thanks for posting.
Exactly! All my spare time would be digging a sifting. There is no telling what lies beneath the surface if you are finding that on top. Dig, dammit, dig!
I always enjoy seeing Texan finds. There's so much GREAT history down your way. Charles Goodnight, the so-called father of the Texas Panhandle who's wife literally saved the American Bison from extinction. Quanah Parker, the great Comanche war leader. And of course the Comanches themselves-- the most powerful tribe in Native American history. And so much more!
Empire of the Summer Moon is a fantastic read for anyone interested in learning about life as a Comanche. Definitely not for the faint of heart though, the battles, punishments, & various massacres are very well detailed.
