Gold is a bit hard to grade from a photo since it virtually doesn't tone or tarnish. It's hard to tell a poor strike MS60 from a better strike XF45 or anything in between without having it in hand with a good loupe or magnifier. It's the most common date so unless it would grade better than MS62, it think it's a waste of money to have it slabbed unless you plan on selling it online and need to assure buyers that it's real and the actual unbiased grade. From the photo, I would guess AU50 but that is a strictly a guess.
I usually get all my gold dollars graded. I may just do ANACs unless it is a good date. I just like to have them protected because they can be bent so easily. I wait till I have a few things in this category and turn them in at a local coin show. They usually have deals and you only have to pay for return shipping.
