Holy cow was it cold out there. The wind had to be 40mph or more coming off the water. I'm sandblasted. To top it off someone else was there before me! They were already gone when I arrived. Their holes they were digging were beer can like signals. Detected in extreme conditions for 2.5 hrs right right off the previous guys footprints. The worst part was walking back into the wind getting totally blasted, but I endured this self-inflicted torture to find my clad.... I was sorta hoping for a piece of jewelry that never came. I think it was like 3 degree windchill. Just had to get that last hunt in before vacation ends. The Susan B Anthony took a headshot as I was hacking in the frozen sand with my scoop.

MIKE!!!! NO WAY~~~ been there and done that, it must have been like being in a sand blasting area. Just driving to Vineland today was miserable, the bare fields had the sky brown with the dust blowing, lol brown outs~! Well, at least you got out, but sorry, too unbearble, that is not fun, at least you did great, that took some of the sting in the face out I am sure.

Just walking the dog here torture today, nearly 50 miles from the ocean. I don't care how many layers you wear, it is impossible to battle the cold winds blowing from the north.

I am happy that you survived and were able to write about it.

See you all in the spring! :laughing9:

I was out on the beach here in NY Mike  I think some of me is still frozen and I've been home for a few hours :tongue3: I could only hunt the wet, no chopping thru the frozen dry sand. Nice finds!

I thought about the beach today in South Jersey, but way to cold, thought about a local school yard and even too cold for that, so you are dedicated!

By the way, if that is a 10 peso coin from 1992 or earlier the center is silver!

Holey cow Mike, you are a die hard hunter for sure... I didnt want to go out in the cold and with the winds the way they were, it wasn't worth the risk of getting sand in my one eye ( just recently operated on.) so I stayed in and stayed nice and warm and thought about all the ones that did hit the beach.. naw.. I will wait a bit to hit it again..
ps. still gotta get me some battery operated warming socks too.
