For this time of year, this field is very exciting. After only 2 visits we have found a little from most periods of UK History; Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, Viking, Medieval, Georgian. We are not sure whats going on, as its not a site as such but we are looking forward to gridding more of it. Today we did nearly 6 hours, mostly in the rain.

2 Roman Coins
2 Medieval Buttons
Medieval Iron Locking Mechanism
Crotal Bell - still rings
2 Rose Farthings
Jetton
Lead Token
Celtic Bronze Unit (Coin) - Our first Celtic coin this year, but in very poor condition.
Nice Buckles again!
Medieval Thimble
Bronze Age Ring/Horse Fitting
Saxon Pinhead
Folded over Henry III Penny
Medieval Key
Viking Strapend (just the tip of a tongue shaped type):sadsmiley:

Wow!! You keep busy...

You found one of my favorites, the Crotal bell.

very nice assortment

Nice hunt!

Every time I read one of your posts I think about the show Time Team and marvel at how excited they all get at finding the odd piece of pottery...and then I think about all the finds that they could be making if you were on the "team"...haha!

A terrific assortment of finds through the ages. wonder what you will come up with on the lower end of the field?

We'll see when harvest time comes!

Cru, that Saxon pinhead and the strap end are in nice condition! Very good finds! Still amazed on the variety.

Man I love the age of your site! envious…awwww yeah lol…congrats and well deserved...

Crusader after viewing many of your post you must have one helluva pile of relics ,I always watch out for your finds because they are never the same most of the time and you can learn a lot from somebody else relic hunts, vanzutphen

Great finds as usual. I really like the buckle with the circle design, medieval?

I actually really like the Saxon pinhead. Very cool find, and from a much-coveted era in history! Shame about the celtic coin's condition--but on the bright side of things, it looks like that field has some good possibilities in terms of age. Fingers crossed for you. I have a hunch something really good will come from that field, either now or after the next plow!
