Greetings,
American Digger magazine, in conjunction with Our History Project, is planning to launch a bi-monthly magazine in February 2011 entitled Embracing History. This new publication will focus on history, incorporating topics such as Travel, Leisure, Artifacts, Antiques, Preservation, Restoration, Myths, Stories, Legends and Reviews.
We are considering historical fiction short stories as well. This has been Our History Project’s road map since its founding. While Embracing History will include some dug artifacts and articles related to them, its main focus will be more on the subjects listed above.
This will in no way affect American Digger Magazine. Embracing History will instead compliment American Digger, giving readers two publications, and it is our hope that many will subscribe to both. This will be encouraged by the staggering of the two production schedules, meaning that each month, one or the other of the two publications will be mailed out.
This is also an answer to those who have lamented that they want to have a magazine of the caliber of “American Digger”, to read each month. We are now soliciting articles for Embracing History on any of the above subjects, and welcome any ideas you may have on other submissions. The first issue is being put together now, so to have your article considered for the inaugural issue please send it on. We do ask that all submissions have not been previously published, except in the possible case of excerpts of books written by you.
Please review the attached writer guidelines for information on exactly what is needed to be considered.
