Hey all,

Went out for about an hour today to the new spot and managed 3 coppers and an IH penny! I've got them cleaning right now but had to take a peek and I think one is a counterfeit George, one is a real George, and one is definitely my first New Jersey copper!!! Here's a couple lousy pics for now, I'll post more later. Thanks for looking and HH!! :sunny:...More pics added

Re: New spot pays off again!!!...3 coppers-1786 NJ,possible counterfeit KGII and CT?

Okay, so far as previously stated I've established that one coin is definitely a NJ copper. One looks like a counterfeit KGII, feels light, rang up kinda low and looks like a weak strike. The third copper has stubborn dirt but it looks like the obverse is worn off but the back is in decent shape and from what I can make out I believe it's a CT copper. Hopefully when it's a bit cleaner I can get something off the obverse! Anyways here's a few more pics...Sorry about the low quality photos. Oh, and the IH is a decent shape 1886 ;D

Pic of CT reverse added below...

Here's the reverse of the CT copper which I *think*is a 1787 variety, the bust is totally worn :(. Thanks for the compliments and for looking everyone, best of luck out there!

Congrats on getting three colonials! The NJ copper is a Maris 16-L variety and yes the year is 1786. Would like to see photos of the others front and back when done cleaning.

Thanks for the info Don! Unfortunately the other two coins are pretty toasted and what little detail if any won't show up in cell phone pics.

I'd say a pretty good one hour hunt there 8). That is some old coinage there!

Thank you all very much for the comments, I guess I didn't realize that it's certainly not everyday that a Jersey copper is pulled in MA. I'm very happy to have found one and hope the same and then-some for you all 8) GL and HH!
