Newbie First Hunt

[Pick It Up]

I just got a Garrett Ace 250 and got to try it out today for my first ever metal detecting hunt. I searched in my backyard for about 2 hours. I found two pennies, a Cub Scout neckerchief slide, a small lock, and a couple of nails. It was fun and I got better at pinpointing the items as I went along.

Yup.....started in my back yard last August. Next you'll be trolling in parks and public spots......maybe the neighbor's yard...........
Then it'll be knocking on doors asking for permission to hunt properties..........
And, in the meantime, you'll be on the net or at the library looking up local history for potential sites..........

I think most of us began with a back yard hunt. Simply finding things that you otherwise would never know are there is enough get you hooked. The next phase will be admitting that you have a problem. The final phase will be when you realize that you really don't care that you have a problem! Keep on swinging!

My first find with my detector is still under the blacktop of the parking lot where i worked...cause i just couldn't wait to try out my detector! Lol!
