Hi to all,

I am about to move to the southern end of Long Island in the Bahamas from Nassau. I plan to spend a considerable amount of my time searching for shipwrecks ( the treasure being in the looking and not necessarily the finding).
I look forward to interacting with anyone and everyone on the various forums, if I can be of assistance to anyone in this part of the world; let me know.

All the very best
Kevin

Hi Kevin, Welcome.

Do you know if the government allows metal detecting on the beaches down there?

I can only help by saying I have seen many people metal detecting on beaches without any hassle so bring it with you and best of luck. Things here are very relaxed with stuff like that. The main worry here is trashing wrecks etc looking for other things than the odd coin or two
