I had this week off and finally had a chance to get out. It started kind of slow with some large tombac buttons and part of a thimble. After a little time had a nice signal(steady 76 T2) and out came this 1786 half reale. Not to long after I had this scratchy 80's signal and about 8" down came what I believe is a NOVA CONSTELLATIO 5 unit copper. The side with the rays has 13 stars and I did see the wreath and some writing on the other when I took it out of my pocket. Also found this broken arrowhead on the ground. If anyone could help id this coin I would be so happy.
Also help with the cleaning would be great!

Thank you

Don

id get a solid id on the coin before any cleaning attempts, you may have a winner there.

Certain coppers just get your attention! The Nova certainly fits into that category. Great finds bud. Spanish is always nice as well

I had a friend named Brian in high school that had a nice old yellow 1967 Nova.....But your late 1700s green nova looks much nicer.... so let me say to you what I once used to say to him... Nice Nova!

Nice find, but nailing the variety might be tough with the limited detail, especially on one side.

Any attempt at cleaning would be a bad idea and only make it worse. Put it in a 2x2 and be happy.

Thanks for the comments all. I'm considering having it authenticated/graded. Any thoughts?

It took awhile, but I can see part of the wreath now.

Most excellent find.

Suit yourself on the pro grading, but I's save the C note for something else.
