Link your asking us to visit a 3rd world country? We are letting the 3rd world into ours now with open arms some legal some not. The demographics of our entire country are changing and some times it looks like they have more rights. I think this gun control thing is just the beginning. As I stated before some people have 50 guns Maybe they feel this is a good investment. not a arsenal for protection. I think the biggest problem here is having some dude with pearly whites and another who rules with a golf club.telling us what's good for us.Not the will of the people but the will of them. The people who complain about the I phone apps (Probably got them for free anyway) are the same people who think that was written in the bill of rights. That's funny we have a bill of rights now changing to a bill of left's (TY's)

Link.I agree with a lot of what you are saying also. I HAVE been to other countries and I've seen the poor. I'm positive I didn't see the worst this world has to offer but, I am not going to apologize for having a big screen tv. No, we as people are not better than anyone else but, as a country, we are. Thing is, we can't treat our constitutionally-given rights like welfare. You know, give up a lot of what we have WORKED for to give to those who won't work. Before the boating accident I had a fair number of weapons for various reasons. I had plenty of ammo for them and I knew how to use them but I never used more than one at a time. Anyone worrying about how many I had would probably be worried that I would arm others in defense of our rights. That's possible.
From Columbine to these recent shootings, most were not committed by the gun owners. Why doesn't anyone on the anti-gun bandwagon understand that? We DO need more responsibility on the gun owner's part though in the securing of these weapons. Besides that, let's look into recognizing the insane.
In some countries you can get shot for talking in a negative manner about the government. I suppose, if they were to only put us in prison for the same thing, I should feel thankful and I should give up the right to free speech? Look at what is happening. If they think they can change the second amendment with an executive order can they also eliminate or limit our other rights with the same dictorial actions? I'll think about giving to the poor if you'll ponder that question for a bit.

FBI reports show more people are killed with hammers and clubs than rifles... Lets make a law on how many hammers a person can legally own, I mean really, who needs more than one hammer.....

TH.........you need a tack hammer, ballpeen, claw, framing, sledge...............it's never-ending my friend. Get all the hammers you can possibly store and have plenty of nails to go with each one. :)
PS.......my favorite is the "jack hammer"!!.................just hold down on the trigger, it's full-auto!!

Link, I agree it was wrong about the American indians, but it was also a different time... How do you think one tribe got the hunting grounds of anotehr tribe, it was through killing them. Indians committed mass murder on their enemies all the time, it was a way of life....

That is true. The Acolapissa tribe is no more because my people (the Houma) did indeed destroy them to the last man. No more right than what the whites did. No more wrong either.

It was war.

BTW, we didn't have any firearms back then.

I have 6 hammers. 1 small tack hammer, two 1 pound claw hammers, a rubber mallet for brakes, a 3 pound hand sledge and a 10 pound sledge. Should I have them registered?

This is one of the crazier forums on here lol. People just relax already about all this gun stuff. So you can't buy semi-autos/autos, so you can't buy huge f'n rolls of mags. C'mon people, it's like most of you think that pistols are worthless or something.
Get with the program folks and stop all this my rights my rights crap.
You should feel lucky that you live in a nation as great as ours. You should feel lucky you actually have HOT water everyday, a refridgerator, hell even a house/apt and t.v!!!
It's all you non-grateful, "owed" people that are ruining everything.
Waaaahhhh I can't have my 50+ guns anymore, what will I ever do!?!?!?!!?
I don't even have to mention how horrid the "come and take my gun" mentality is.
Seriously people, be thankful already that we actually live somewhere that has concerns over the gun deaths and MASSIVE issues that surround firearms.
We don't crap in gutters, holes, ditches or anything like that(except when camping).
Why do you think so many countries are upset with us? Because we are ungrateful about all the wonderful things we have each day.
Ask yourselves, please folks ask yourself this-How many people would honestly kill to have the lifestyle, home, shelter, car anything that you have? The answer...millions. Straiten up folks, stop all this gun crap, you don't need 50+ firearms. Have a pistol or two, take the gun classes, stop *****ing.

The problem is, a pistol is not enough to shoot a distant target. Most don't need 50+ firearms, but once Feinstein gets her way, the government wil know exactly where your guns are and can easily take them. Other countries are not jealous, Al-Qaeda attacked us because we supported them against the Russians, and then withdrew, so they realized what America did, and attacked us. If we stop attacking other countries for "fun" and only make war when we need to, we will probably have less enemies. We had few for 200 years, and now we have lots, just because of intruding on other countries.

Sag,

I have to agree with you on that point....lots of good young men and women lost over in the Middle East in wars that unfortunately won't solve squat.....they have a different mind set than the West....still more tribal based for the most part...US, Canucks and British troops among others that should be back home safe and sound.

Ever think the but of a pistol makes a good hammer? even a empty rifle makes a good weapon. I prefer the battery operated hammer by Sears.

Wow are you wrong. I hope we are never like the rest of the world. You are suggesting loosing rights and that is un-American period. We can own as many guns as we want. Do you think if we didn't own guns or as many guns we would be more like the rest of the world? Well your right, we would have a govt. Just as bad as there's and all our other rights would be gone. We couldn't even have this conversation. The world is NOT fair. That is a socialist Utopia. I can see you feel guilty and you have a right to feel how you want to. But you have no right to tell the rest of us how to feel or live. You don't know me and have no idea what I have been through. I certainly know what being dirt poor looks like first hand do you? Or do you feel guilty just cause you have visited somewhere and seen it. Well after being very poor in the past I can tell you it is only my buisness how I live now. I am sick of people like yourself trying to take this country down a few notches to match the rest of the world, as I said the world is not fair. Complain about iphone app. Well I don't own one and it wouldn't matter if I did this is America and we can strive to have things like that. If you don't like that I bet some other socialist country would be glad to have you........as they need all the followers they can get.

I feel like we should give aid to other nations to help them, but not at the cost of having our people suffer and be taxed to death because of an increasing debt. The poor in other countries are usually much more honest and hardworking people, not the poor in America that just gets money from the government, then goes to a liquor store and gets some booze, and then spends the remaining money in a strip club.

If we did stop attacking other countries, the big corporate thugs here like Bush, Cheney, and all the other head corporate hancho thugs wouldn't be making any money and stealing all the wealth and keeping us poor!!

Dang man, ARE YOU SERIOUS??? We been helping all the other countries for almost a century if not more!!! Have you climbed down out of the tree and looked around or were you too busy singing coom-ba-ya at the camp fire holding hands??

Every flipping country to INCLUDE, (ONES WE HAD NOT BEEN IN A WAR WITH OR CONFLICT WITH where no U.S. lives were lost), WE HAVE ALWAYS helped other countries, but you don't see any countries knocking our borders down to come to our aid when a disaster hits the U.S.!!!! How many bad hurricanes did we have in the last 60 years? How many floods have we had in the last 60 years? How many earthquakes have we had in the last 60 years??? I don't recall any country coming to help us!!!!!!!!

You sir tell me how many countries came and HELPED US?????? We fed those who decided to live in areas where a cactus could barely grow! But they CHOSE TO LIVE THERE!! We watered those who CHOSE to live in areas with NO WATER for MILES AND MILES!!! They CHOSE TO LIVE THERE!! Also, many DID NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY! But THEY CHOSE TO LIVE THERE!! PEOPLE HAVE A CHOICE WHERE TO LIVE WHERE AND WHAT TO DO NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY!!!!!

Explain to me where you been?? What countries you have been too?? What have you seen??

People have a CHOICE to live where they want, you think everyone here in the U.S. is poor living on the government, (which I agree many are), but you still have poor people in other countries who don't want to work either, it is just like here in the U.S.

But tell us where you been and what you talked about after you sat around the camp fires singing coom-ba-ya and holding hands!!

I very much agree with what you have said. I got a little off topic/rantish with the HD/iPhone app comments lol. I don't believe that we are "bad people" for owning lots of nice things or anything like that, I guess I just feel like some of us(obviously not you) forget about how good we have it here and we have overdeveloped the mindset of "I'm owed I'm owed."
America was unfortunately first paved with mass murders and bloodshed. Did the Natives have to kill off animals to set up camp, yeah probably. Did they kill other tribes to obtain land? Unfortunately. You nailed it on the head with what you said about that TH. I did sound like we ignore the rest of the world with my wording, I'm glad you mentioned that.
America is the first to help, the first to send aid, and normally the first to make SEVERE sacrafices for our brothers and sisters. I guess I just feel like we could do more, way more. America is so caught up r.now in gun crap and it's driving me insane, there are SO many other concerns that should take the front seat away from guns.
I have been poor, I have been homeless, I've been many things that everybody else has been and I've also been things they haven't. I remember living in my car, freezing during winter and not wanting to turn the ignition on for heat because I had to save gas. I recall sitting there, enclosed in my old white pontiac as the snow fell eating uncooked ramen out the packet. I couldn't help but feel glad/thankful that at least I had my car. At least I wasn't outside freezing and God knows what else.
We are giving millions upon billions to other countries, this I know. And that's waaaaay more than anywhere else is doing. I guess I just feel like we have more potential than that you know? We have all these nice things, but I feel like our efforts should be put forth a lot more. I LOVE having the nicest things, my LG Plasma, PS3, heat, water, etc etc.....I just wish everyone else had them too. When I drive past car dealerships and I see the HUNDREDS of vehicles that we all KNOW won't get bought at all my stomach turns. All those vehicles sitting, not moving an inch for who knows how long. Imagine if they got donated, even 1/5 of their "oldest models" would help out a town/village to no end.
I keep rereading my thread, I'm trying to word it as best as possible to not sound selfish or make you all feel like you are bad or anything.
HH everyone, thanks for all the replies.

Who is the first country to send aid to a country after a natural disaster, USA is. You sound like we ignore the rest of the world which is false. As I said I have been to 3rd world countries, I know how they live, but that does not mean we need to be ashamed of the the way we live, only appreciate what we have. We can not financially support the world..... Just because I have a big screen tv and 3 cars does not make or anyone else a bad person...

I have no clue where your coming from about going to another country and complaining about our IPhone or hd channels, what the heck does that have to do with the topic of people wanting to take away our rights to own guns as guaranteed to us in our constitution? NOTHING....Thread is talking about some politicians wanting to strip the 2nd amendment from the Bill of Rights. It has absolutely nothing to do with a 3rd world country not having IPhones and HD TV channels....

Why is it so hard for some people to understand, that the 2nd amendment is there to guarantee the other rights in the Bill Of Rights will always be there. The 2nd amendment was put there to guarantee the American people would always be able to resist tyranny if it ever rose up in our government.

I think the confusion is the TYPES of weapons being restricted; don't think ANYONE is trying to take away the 2nd Amend. Right; otherwise, why NOT buy an army tank, and put it at your door...? YOU DON'T NEED A TANK! OR... a FIGHTER AIR CRAFT... I like those Night-Hawks Stealth Fighters... DOESN'T mean I need one; leave it to the pros. :icon_thumleft:

Tank is not a gun nor is a jet fighter. 2nd doesn't say right to own artillery..

Right of people to bear arms shall not be INFRINGED.

It is the attempted restriction of semi-automatic, the requirement to be fingerprinted and to register all weapons we own we object to.

Once we surrender a right you acknowledge it was not your right to bin with when in fact it is. I watched a video today where a Dem congressmen said we should look at restricting the 1st.This is a current member of congress too....
