off work early

You got to love getting off work at noon!! It don't happen to often so I took advantage of it. My friend and I drove back to the camp site and hunted for a good while. The take for the day was 8 French buttons ,a nice Crucifix(not sure how old) ,three coins ,25 dropped musket balls and other odds and ends. Man ,I had fun but the time flew by. I am gonna hit a couple of fields tomarrow and try again. Thanks for looking and HH.

Awesome hunt Bman! Those buttons are nice and relics as well. I have found several pieces of that style of cross you found, think I have a whole one too, also think they date to the mid 1800s. HH, Mike

Rvbvetter,you are right ,I will miss the detecting and the mass amounts of history here but I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to hunt here and touch some of the history of Europe. I am sure North Dakota will have some good hunting somewhere. I hope. The cannonballs and every thing is going in the box marked "pots and pans" . LOL

the buttons are all from the 19th - early 20th C . I've got a plenty of them maybe one hundred found over the years . no idea about the cross but nice find find by the way ...

sounds like a great site . I noticed that most of your finds are from the early 20th C what about roman- medievale coins ? have you ever found older finds or are you interested in WWI - WWII artifacts only ?
