It was found in Washington Parish La. Out in a field- other pieces were found in same area- any thoughts. Appreciate any help

One logical way to tell the difference is the material.
Is the clay the same as the pottery you found there?
Thousands of clay marbles were made for children in the 18 and 1900's some were nice..painted and glazed..some were not.
Most were made with light colored kaolin clay... the same clay used to make pipes of the same period.
And I still see glaze on yours.
