Went back again cuz I cannot stay away. The two buckle like objects were found six inches apart. They are an inch and a half long. I am thinking they go on a horse bridle? The other oval item which is also an inch and a half long has a primitive attachment like I have not seen before I think this item may be Colonial it was not found very close to the others. The points are very sharp as I found out while I was recovering it when one went underneath my fingernail. I'm not sure of the actual purpose of any of them I am assuming they are horse tack of some sort. I have never seen the lead fill decay so much on the back of anything like this. It makes me wonder how old they really are. Anyway I think it's a fair guess that it is all horse attack of some sort but if anyone can put a date to it that would be awesome. Thanks in advance

I'm thinking the "2 buckle like" pieces are retainers of some type. They were joined together by a small chain and then used to hold something together.
Maybe a vest, horse blanket, tent opening, etc??
Congrats on your finds.

Congrats on your finds.

I like the concept. Perhaps it held together the top of the bear skin cloak of one of the first explorers / trappers to go up that stream. Yeah he would have had a long beard and longer hair and a bear claw necklace struggling along in snow shoes carrying 40 pounds of beaver pelts. God I love history I was definitely born too late LOL

I've been metal detected for a year, but recently everyday for 3 months. My hands are going numb. I'm obsessed because I found 1829 8 Reale

Spot addiction is a real thing, and can only be cured by the next best find. Kind of like a dog chasing its tail. Lol.
