Found these at a 1700s house that was lived in for many generations. The mystery melt? I thought was lead until I got home it passes the the ice cube test and the acid said 80% silver. Still looks like lead to me, except for the shiny spots. No idea what could have given it the designs/texture. They are getting ready to tear this place down and build new home.The whole site will be graded. Found a few old coins there in the past, will hate to see it so disturbed. Good luck to all. Art

Not sure about your test, but I'm going with melted Lead.

Given the relatively small size and heavy weight I'd be leaning towards melted lead also.

That's a pretty cool bell. If they are grading it, it could turn it into a brand new site for you. They'll mix everything up for sure and expose stuff that was previously masked or out of reach. Hopefully some great stuff turns up after they grade it.
