You know @ first I was gonna tell you that i was not trying too downplay you're find or anything but it probably wasnt a bird bath (not trying too tell you in the buzz kill kinda way) Having dug quite a few Victorian type bird baths around old house sites but all the vintage bird baths i have dug have not been in-ground.
I guess I can say this is the first In-ground bird bath I have seen anyone dig outta the ground (In-ground meaning whenever it was used it was put into the ground and not like most bird baths you see)..... but you know the more i look @ this I honestly can say that is probably def a In-ground bird bath! hey congrats kewl find and clean it off maybe you can find some markings! kewl stuff
wow u are crazy haha, i would prolly have left it down there after seeing the shape/size or it but iam Always curios when i leave big targets, what it may or may not have been.
must have taken a long time to get up.
I can't stand not moving large finds, have to find out if there is anything underneath. The house I live in the original owner passed away unexpectedly back in the 50's. So I'm playing in the back yard and find a large metal plate under the lawn. I absolutely knew I found the guys stash, dug it up, checked again, got a strong hit, and trust me, the dirt flew. Nothing but water valves to a long ago abandoned water line to the garage. The story of my life.
