Found this buckle yesterday where a house stood many years ago (square nails found). All that remains now is a rock foundation, flowers, and thick vegetation in a wooded area. Going back with a small coil. It is the size of a silver dollar and made of copper or brass and silver. The silver bar on the back still pivots up and down and the forked tongue swings left and right. Don't know what it went on.

Nice buckle, do you know what it was used for?

thought about suspenders but the top loop, the clasp, and the forked tongue puzzled me.
