Old button

Hi y'all ! This is a first button for me. I found this in a large area where other items found dated between 1860-1930. Researching this for myself got me tired and I didn't get details. I saw nothing like this one. Can anyone inform me about this type button BESIDES it being "union made for a pay master" uniform Thanks in advance !

Not sure I would call it a Button, I think it's what we call a 'popper' from an overall. Although has the same function as a button but without a shank.

I’ve got one is reason I know where they’re from. I got to getting my button out the other day, and I had it marked where it was from. The luck of me actually finding it that many yeah slyer is beyond me. Just like yesterday I was going through my dads safe, and in a old Camel cigarette box of mine that they sent me a promo in I had some Minie Balls, shot, and some dropped, then I opened the pack of smokes, there was a general service cuff button, and cavalry coat button from the CW that I forgot I’d even found
