I got to know this nice old lady who owns property along an inlet to the Atlantic Ocean where I've detected in the past and had good luck with 1800s era military buttons and musketballs. Turns out her uncle passed away recently she invited me over to see the things he found in the region (without a detector/while looking for arrowheads). This was decades ago. I am set with knowledge of the various buttons except for the one shown up close, if anyone knows. Does anyone have knowledge of whether the old compass in the box has any value? It doesn't have any markings at all. Thanks for any feedback.

THE BUTTON IS INTERESTING NOT SURE WHAT IT IS , AND THE WHOLE COLLECTION REALLY NICE ...

Looks similar to the East India Co. Buttons

Just guessing (WAG) the compass is a ships compass, however not familiar with which era...maybe a sailboat as opposed to a steamer or steel ship.

I'd guess its valuable but should be appraised, possibly by a Ships Chandler...

seen similar design buttons of lion holding crown listed as a livery button

Nice collection I love the home with the inlet to the Atlantic ocean freakin awesome
