Old park finally produces

We have hit this park a few times and never had any luck. It is the oldest park in town. I imagine it has been hunted to death. Well it took 6 inches of topsoil removed before we finally found some goodies. Unfortunately there was a ton of iron, but we still managed a few finds. 1917s Merc, a Rosie, an old lock (don't know much about locks) and Dad found a 1899 indian (not pictured). Also found a few wheats 1917,1941, 1945. I believe the city will be tearing the shell down along with ripping more of the park up. May get a few more chances.

The Merc isn't the prettiest looking thing, but I really do like the lock

Thanks for looking

Nice finds. I hope you did not take out all of the topsoil with your Lesche ;D. ;D

Keep it up. It looks like there should be more great finds there for you.

That's beautiful Merc! And the lock and rosey are really great finds too! Keep it up!!
You might want to ditch the Lesche and get yourself a large flatnose shovel to put the dirt back ;)

Good finds. Saw a re-enactment type program about Billy The Kid the other night and the manicles they had him in had a small lock like the one you found. I wonder ???? Bye the way, what was on the site before it was a park, looks like the houses around it are 1800s? When they tear down the building - BE THERE. That should have some good finds under it. You can never tell how many times it was refloored. HH Stan...
