Hello!

I got out for a few hours today. I went to a local park that's been absolutely POUNDED in the past . . . . but today seemed different . . . the grass was cut much shorter than usual . . . I think the extra inches helped me out! Here's what I dug:

1951-S Washington Quarter
1925-s Merc dime
1943-P War Nickel
1907 Indian Head Cent
13 wheat cents
plenty of clad
Military button
GOLD ring

The Gold ring weights 3.6 grams. But I don't know what the markings are inside the band ~ I took close-up pic's ~ anyone know what these marking mean?

Thanks for looking!
Neil

UPDATE! . . . . I finally had someone figure out the symbols on the gold ring! It's Japanese!! The first mark is the marker's mark . . . . then the two symbols together mean "PURE" & "GOLD". SWEEETTT!!!!!

sure beats the 67 cents an socket I got tonight lol

Nice finds, congratulation!

Good close-ups.

Looks Asian hallmarks, but its a best guess. I hope someone pins it down more...

It's amazing how we can keep hammering these old sites and still come
up with sweet keepers every now and then. Nice job Neil
Gold Nuggets :hello:

great finds. I agree with Crusader, the marks look Asian. I wouldn't have a clue what they say. Probably best to get it acid tested for purity

UPDATE! Went back to the same park again today. I didn't do so good, only 4 or 5 wheat cents . . . . but my brother Kip found a 1898 Indian Head Cent!

Congrats on some good finds, I am no help to you on the ring.
Glad to see you are still here Neil.
Happy Hunting
Kevin

Goes to show places are never truly "hunted out". Nice catch on the gold.

One of my favorite hunting spots is and old park that has been around for nearly a hundred years. I always take my small grandkids there because I can always depend on finding something to amaze them. The place has literally thousands of zinc pennies I think. You can find one every few feet without looking too hard, but I also found a gold ring there once upon a time. I'm usually the only one there because it is "hunted out". Keep at it, old parks are great! Monty

Beautiful ring, and great looking silver!
