Hi Again,
Can anyone give me a little insight to the age of this spoon. I did a little research, found some cool stuff from the UK. Nothing in USA.

This spoon came from a hill on the border of an old farm. Area is deep in history, King Phillip's war, Revolution etc...

I can't wait to hit this spot agian.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Should I clean this item, if so, what is the best method?

That spoon reminds me of the one my grandmother used to keep in her can of Bruton Snuff, she'd dip it full and put in the back of her jaw. So it may be an old snuff spoon?

Should I re-post this to another forum for ID/cleaning help?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

What a neat old spoon. Maybe you'll find more silverware at the same place. Keep digging and let us know. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the info. I do not think this spoon is silver. It appears to be gold in color w/green tarnish. I am thinking brass/brass alloy.

I may have to leave work early today and check out the area again. The area is very intriguing, almost spooky. I found the spoon at the top of a hill that is the highest elevation for many miles. You can see Providence 10 miles to the north and Narragansett Bay 5 miles to the south. The hill overlooks a large area surrounded by stone walls. Within the stone wall are several old foundations, that I have not touched. I will try to take a few pictures of the site if the light permits.

Happy Holidays!
