My plans are up in the air right now. It looks like it is going just north of Corpus. My dad is about an hour inland from the Corpus coast and his place weathers the hurricanes well. The only thing is flooding on low lying roads in the area. Right now it looks as if Corpus folks are heading out, and I will be heading that direction. Not to worry if things change and it is going to be a direct hit to Corpus or just below, then I got a safe spot a couple hours inland from there I will shoot over to. Lets hope everyone stays safe and it passes by quickly and Moves lots and lots of sand. The last hurricane that had a direct hit to Corpus was Celia in 1970, there have been a few minor ones hit north or south of Corpus but nothing that really devasted the area.
You folks north of Beeville, Victoria up to Galveston be safe I have a feeling you are going to catch the brunt.

TKG, What ever you decide to do just don't wait to long to do it. My friend that is a weather specialist for continental is heading for Oklahoma (he lives 30min. from here) and that scares me. He is a little concerned that it may do a swerve a bit further North than expected.

Who knows, Everyone who is hanging tight dig in and get prepared it may be pretty ugly for a few days and I hope that you guys are all safe.

Update again this evening -

Keith be safe I don't think you will have to worry about the wind but it will probably drop a bunch of rain on you guys.
I think its all in Kevin's mind he is defeated by his mindset before he even turns on the detector. Ofcourse I am no where near Tommy, I ran into him a couple weekends ago and after 2hours no joke I had 11 cents and a crack spoon. I figure he wasn't doing any better and Curly was out there and didn't fare well either. I should of known better cause along comes Tommy with 4 rings and he was still hunting when I left. ::)

For the last week I've been attending a technical school in Lafeyette LA. They just canceled classes so those of us that need to can take care of business.

So I'm headed to Houston... Don't want the wife trying to figure out how to start the generator, and I'd feel more comfortable being there than me being here and her being by herself.

Should be fun... :P

Humble, ready for impact! We are riding this bad boy out. In the famous words of LT. Dan:

Come on! You call this a storm?
Blow, you son-of-a-bitch! Blow! It's
time for a showdown! You and me. I'm
right here. Come and get me! AHHH-ja-ja-jaaaa!!!!!

Hey Texasdigger...I really believe I would have lost my boat in the last hurricane that came thru if I hadn't partially filled it with water. Even with all that water in it...it was still rockin n rollin! Good luck with this storm...looks like Victoria is gonna get a pass this time.
