Found this pipe a month ago in a field in Calhoun county illinois. The material I'm not sure what it's made of but it has a carved indian head on it. Here are some pictures of it! 20150927_161226.jpg 20150927_161333.jpg 20150927_161308.jpg 20150927_161252.jpg 20150927_161234.jpg

That's pretty unique right there... Pretty Sandy looking material too, surprised it isn't more worn away than it is... Neat!!

looks like a clay smoking pipe (stem missing), from the turn of the century.

It's stone cause when you touch it has a Sandy grainy feel. The stem is complete it looks like it's missing in the picture but it's all there. That's just where the stem ends.

the stem would have been bone or wood and would have slipped inside the large hole opposite the face.

To me it looks like a high fired ceramic object using a heavy grog clay as opposed to a carved rock material...

Thanks everyone for feedback! I know it may look like clay in the pictures but if you were able to hold it in person it's just like sandstone. I have sandstone rocks laying around and it looks just like it and has the same Sandy feel as sandstone
