I came across a Oneida Rogers 1881 (I think 188? Something) silver plated set for 8 the knifes were stainless steel missing 1 fork so 15 forks 16 spoons 8 serving spoons 8 knifes not in best shape with box a bit beat up. She wanted $10.00 I passed. I don't know anything about silverware and less about silverplated was that a bad idea should I go back and get it or not:icon_scratch:

Thanks

I think you did the right thing.. Most silverplate isn't worth more then 10.00 actually to me that is over priced

Thanks man I have been thinking about it all day I'm glad I did the right thing if it had been silver and not plated I would have taken a gamble.

Good hunting

There is a ton of it out there. 1881 isn't when it was made. Even in great condition it sells for only $25-$30, but some antique stores will try and get $80 or so. You did good by passing it up. You keep looking, you'll see a lot more...
