Only found one button this weekend

But if you're only gonna find one, it might as well be military, right? After some unsuccessful scouting on Saturday, I ventured into an overgrown field where I have found a few buttons and a King George II in the past. I found a small caliber musketball, then I got a good button signal and dug this one piece eagle infantry button. The eagle is pretty faint, but you can see the I on his shield. This button would have been silver plated at one time. This style was in use from 1821 until the early 1840s.

That is a nice one though Steve.

Were you at in the burgh. I am always out there hunting. Maybe we could go search down some foundations. I do all types of hunting in allegheny co.

Yes sir, that is some thread there. It is not uncommon to find very old buttons that still have some thread around the shank.
