2 buttons, a buckle, old copper ring, a BARBER, and the BLOB. 1 1/4" high and 1 1/8" wide. weighs .46 Troy ounce and tested: "OH,YEAH+" for silver. most likely Spanish silver since the sizes and weight is wrong for US coins. then I go home, break open a new box of nickels and SHAZAM, another prize. '63-D Jeff, not only a CUD but a peeling lamination defect IMG_1093.JPG IMG_1094.JPG IMG_1096.JPG IMG_1095.JPG . one piece broke off when I moved it, now I can't find the little fleck. hope to find a new home for the nickel thru ebay, listed the bad boy for $20, if the rain clears tomorrow we go corn row hunting for more goodies

Too light for a piece of 8 too large for a 4 reale, it does look like a coin which has been in a fire, maybe pistereen or other British or French specie !

I totally agree with your opinion, but keep in mind that it is 2 coins fused together from the heat. factoring the melt damage, could they still be Spanish? back again today for more, this field is flat and smooth from the recent discing. only drawback is the 300 pound bear shacking up in the woods off Hurley Mt. Road at rear of field. will bring FMERG with me since I can run faster than him.
