Any ideas on what the bent thingy could have went to? It has grooves on the lower in the round part. And possibly the age of the silverware?

The entire piece isn’t hollow. But yeah the bottom part was threaded onto something or could have been.

If you can find the Hallmark it will help with the age but my guess is 1800s.

The other pc is a lightning rod.

The flatware handle is likely a spoon and also likely coin silver (nominal .900 fine). It's marked for Johnson & Godley. Samuel Johnson and Richard Godley were in partnership in Albany, NY between 1842-1849.

I agree with ironhorse, lightning rod. Nice piece of silver too, but i don't recognize the hallmark. Any hunt with silver is a good one though
