Got out early to a park in Baltimore and worked hard for these "historic" finds:

Suspender clip patented 1856 & 1879, partial diecast soldier with some of the mold attached, a threaded brass cap with thread inside, part of a small padlock, a military mess token with raised letter "2 BN. MESS", and the penny trifecta: 1896 IHP, 1941 wheat and a 1981D memorial.

Happy Hunting Treasurenetters!

Thanks Underminer! Happy to find a decent IHP after Thursday's toasted trio.

Congrats on the cool finds McCDig. :occasion14: I particularly like the mess token. It's the 1st one I've seen.

Great group of finds, congrats. The "Part of a soldier" may have been a 2-dimensional lead soldier lying prone on the grass, firing a rifle or machine gun. Thus the extra lead along the front of the body is flat, meant to be on the ground, and the swirls in the design are meant to be "grass." A nice oldie! Sub 8-)
