Good score buddy, I am fairly certain the peace dollars are worth about $23-24 melt value and perhaps more depending on condition!

Ikes are just fun to collect but it has been proven you can sell them for a premium if you have enough!

Looking forward to the pics!

She just kept four ikes, because they were shiny. lol
I grabbed up the peace dollars before she picked but she said they were dirty and ugly anyways so she didn't want them.

Yea melt is right in that range
I only have accumulated around 40 Ikes or so over the last couple of years and I just plan on holding on to them.
I only really sell if I am in a tough financial spot.
Which hasn't happened yet.

Make sure you check them with a magnet AND weigh them. There are counterfeits out there and they are good! I know, I found one.

I couldn't find my camera so I settled for crappy webcam photos.
I didn't bother for pics of the Ikes

That makes the find even sweeter. I found two in my first month of CRHing and one of them is my avatar. Gotta love getting old coins at face, especially when they're silver.

They weigh around 26.7 grams which is right for them
and they didn't stick to magnet
As far as I can tell they are exactly like all my other silver dollars

Today, I had a teller say, do you know anything about coins? I say yes. They say I had to buy these from my tray. The teller pulls out an envelope with 8-9 Morgans and 2-3 ASEs in snaptight holders. The teller told me that they paid a buck a piece. I offered to buy, but no dice. Very meloncoly day. Glad you could score. HH

I've had that happen once whenI first started CRHing
I almost cried when I saw all the Morgans the teller had and wouldn't sell.
I was very worried the cashier already pulled the silver ones but she thought they looked old and let me have them.

Great find! I've found Morgans, 1 silver Ike and my first circulated ASE just recently but still no Peace dollar yet.

The '27, '27D and '27S Peace dollars have lower mintages too and should be worth @ least $30 or so just in good condition.

H$H!

Great find! I used to work as a cashier at Kroger "back in the day" lol. Found lots of silver from time to time.

Hmm...wonder if they'd hire a 38 year old part timer now just to look for silver :)

I'm thinking about asking to move up to cashier just to pull some silver from the drawers
I dont know if I can take standing in once place all day though

The '27 has a mint mark. The pics are too crappy for us to discern, but you will have to look closer and let us know whether it is Denver or San Fran. Nice score.

I would crap myself if someone paid me with peace dollars or if I found them in my till at work. I still have yet to find silver in my till at work. Just wheaties and pre 60 nickels. Only once, a lady gave me a 63 Canadian dime. Nice find, especially since you didn't even have to be cashiering to find it!

Dang thats a great find! Lucky the cashier didn't take the peace dollars, I'm not sure how kroger is but i work part time at a grocery store and we have change dispensers at the end of the checkouts with clear plastic pieces in front so you can see all the rims of the coins, ive found a bunch of dimes and a few quarters and nickels. I just ask the ladies who work op front to swap it out for me.
