Bounty Hunter.....but excited about trying it tomorrow morning at an Old School site nearby. A military veteran is moving back to Germany, and had this up for sale. He bought it last February and paid over $300 new to use it only to find his property stakes.......never used for coin hunting.....I think it was a good deal!!

QUESTION: Notice it said in owners manual to ONLY use Alkaline batteries....DO NOT use Heavy Duty ones.....Anyone using the Heavy Duty??.....will it damage the detector if I do??.......Thanks

Bill

Congrats that's a nice machine. The best thing you can do is get yourself a good set of 9v rechargeables if your gonna use it often. It will save you money on batteries in the long hall. Non alkalines most likley wont hurt it but wont last very long. Frys has good rechargeable battery's. Happy hunting

Thanks Trackerman.......for the suggestion on buying the 9V rechargeables......that was kinda my thinking too. My first time out today with the BH 3300 that I just got yesterday,.....and I got LUCKY......found a 1901 silver Barber Dime, 4 wheat cents dated 1928, 1940, 1942 & 1957.....plus 11 copper Memorial Cents and 1 clad quarter........But I decided to run in full descrimination the first time and not bother with the Zinc cents, Nickels & the other targets until I get used to what it does on full rejection mode first......I know I lose most gold items, etc.....but was trying to save some digging time in the high trash area I was working today......I will try to get up a picture of my first day finds later today or tomorrow........Happy Hunting!!

O.K.........Here are the pictures

Sorry, hillbillyhunter......for the late reply......but not positive about the difference.....the black 3300 I have was made in 2010......and I believe the grey 3300 were made before that....however I do not know if there were any upgrades in the more recent black 3300......Maybe someone on here knows if they are any different otherwise.

Found a 15 coin drop in one hole yesterday, in the same baseball field that I found my silver 1942 Mercury Dime on Tuesday.......What was interesting, I was running on full discrimination, rejecting nickels and modern post 1982 zinc cents.
The mix was 1 clad quarter, 2 clad dimes, 3 nickels, and 9 pennies which were ALL post 1982 zinc cents....YET I received a strong dime quarter signal and they were all only 2 inches deep......that it is amazing while rejecting the 3 nickels and the 9 zinc cents.......nothing was dated after year 2000........Good test on the BH 3300 for a mix multiple drop. I also found 9 wheat cents while there yesterday, with the oldest being 1917...so very happy with this machine over the last 3 1/2 months.
