I finally began exploring the vast areas in which my little spot is surrounded. I will be going out this Sunday with someone from the board so the quality of the specimens should increase drastically.

I tried to include some new pottery and found a two leveled piece. It has the outside decoration in the shape of a sun I believe. I took pictures of the front and back. I also found a "bowl" or a type of cup or scoop. ??? ??? It is made out of flint.

Finally I found some amazing flint that they were just using to create these preforms, I think. As always any help is appreciated.

You are zeroing in my friend, that second pic down looks to be the base end of a Pedernales arrowhead, or projectile point. I will give you a call tomorrow to talk about meeting up. Way to go.

Always enjoy seeing what you find in your special area and reading your post. Some nice artifacts and some nice rocks. You and Abarnard will have fun. We all look forward to your post of ya'lls hunt. I am going to go fill my freezer with venison so I can hunt some points.

Haha TN, that's why I have freezer lock to make my venison stew from last years kill in LLano fresh. I need to get out to my friends ranch and kill a good doe to get some more meat. I love venison. Bucks are sniffin around though.. I almost ran over a deer in Spicewood Springs on the way to my girlfriends, it was cold and he was chasing a doe. All the rain helps things out I think.. Good luck.

Dissolution of limestone can make certain limstone rocks look like bowls, etc. As a geologist I can give you some examples, rock examples that is, of even limestone concretions that make even funnier shapes than this. Like we all said, it is hard to tell unless you just put it in your hand and look at it personally. I will see ya Sunday... Everything in these pics looks good.. I want you and everyone to see this awesome limestone concretion that I recovered at a gravel pit at my buddies place off the Brazos River. Makes ya think

Having problems with my picture downloads/computer, will post later.
