i was walking a creek mushrooming and came across this tooth, it is fossilzed but dont know from what animal, it seems to be a meat eater though. still has the enamel look.

Where are you from?
Was/is this creek from a branch of a river? Is it close to a large pond, swamp area?
Or is it mainly forest?
It could be one of many things. Did you happen to notice any animal tracks?
It could be from the large feline family (bobcat/panther), dog family, or even an alligator/crocodile tooth.
Using the picture it is hard to tell, but it almost looks to be a canine tooth.
I have picked many an alligator tooth from river and creek beds in Florida and South Alabama, it also closely resembles one of those.

It looks like a canine tooth from a girl I dated from Jersey City.

Yours looks a little shorter and cleaner though.

Chubacraba is right! We killed one once and it had the same teeth.
