It sort of looks like Obsidian to me.

It looks like furnace glass to me. Waste material from an old kiln. Often found near early iron ore extraction kilns.

It looks like one of those touristy cut geode rocks that are used for bookends. I have bought these in Tennessee before. They polish up the cut side and are neat looking, maybe yours is one of those that got busted up.
