Thanks guys. Yes, it has a single round back attachment. Found it just outside of Winnipeg at another lost site due to development. It was another "Save."

The back is flat IP! Here's some pics, although I think your right because you can see where the backmark should be and it
looks livery-ish.

Livery makes the most sense all things considered. Thought for a while you beat the odds but I think the odds won.

Ok...round three..and a mystery to boot. Pretty sure it is a cape clasp but no idea who may have worn it...may not even be military but pretty safe bet that it is.
