Posting stories from magazines

Hi everyone
I got a bunch of old treasure magazines from the early to mid seventies from my father in law. I was thinking about reposting some of the stories on here but was not sure about the legal side of things. Any ideas on what I can and cant do?

A Popular Treasure Hunting Magazine:

a long, LONG time! The exact duration depends upon whether the copyrighted material was created before or after 1978. Here's a link to the details:

OUCH thanks Jeff. Looks like I'm gonna have to put everything into my own words oh well. Some good treasure leads for everyone is worth it

While republishing an article (especially for profit or not giving the original author credit) would be a no-no...

There is a thing called "fair use". So if you have some cool stuff from the 70's and you want to show it to others and discuss it, (especially if the author is credited) that falls under "fair use" and there's nothing wrong with it.
