I found the site of an ancient warehouse to an old castle several hundred years old. While researching the maps and such, I noticed a large powerline passing about 100 yards from the site. Is this close enough to cause a problem with my MXTpro? I have not received my new machine yet, but if this looks bad for my gain setting...I will bump this site down my list of prospects.
Thanks in advance.

although I am not Familiar with the MXTpro,

Shouldn't be a Problem unless you
walk under the Power line to detect.

Thank you Jeff. That's good to know. Made my day. My MXT should be here in a week or so.
Can't wait.

Only places I Have had Problems with My detectors have
Been under low power lines,
Near Power Fences & Over Underground wires.

& Of course Aliens :laughing7:
(Once in awhile it goes Crazy in an area for an hour or so
then clears up. I Call it aliens  )

your pin looks close on the Ariel,
But I'm guessing your going to be
a good distance away.

Happy Hunting !

Yes, the site is about 100 yards west of the lines.
After six years earning my single stripe with the ace 250, wifey finally gave me the green light for a better machine.

I hope i will have something worth posting before spring.
Thanks

You should be good to go , I have the XLT and run it " HOT " and can get from 20 - 30 yards and not hear it .

EMI is a funny thing.
There's a park I've tried to hunt, with different detectors, that's surrounded by homes and has really strong EMI in the area, and I can't see anything causing it.
I've also been in a area where I heard a phone ring at a nearby house and every time it rang my detector became crazy. Someone must of answered it because I had move to another area.
