Yeah, hook her up to this. She can come up here and visit us and see the real Colorado, unlike your old dry, dusty and hot part of the state. (I'm joking; best wishes to y'all)

They moved to Virginia from here. LOL
Co will always be my home.
Was born here... probably die here.
Just can't leave it for too long.

Thom my friend: I just picked this up, sorry for the delay in wishing all of you the best. Stuff some predigested animo acids in Her diet for a faster and more complete recovery. Relatively cheap.

Thanks old friend,
I believe they are working along these lines.
They have also been fighting a chronic V-tac and uncontrollable high blood pressure.
and a very bad case of CHF. (congestive heart failure)

She is very old fasioned and tries to treat herself with herbal remedies,
In the process has done irretrievable dammage to her systems.
Convincing her that she needs to take these meds is the hard part.
it has been easier to convince her that if she doesn't she will die.

I have made it a point to withdraw a little and just let her choose.
I love that lady but if she chooses to go...
it has to be up to her. I won't fight with her any more.

They make it difficult, for sure. To find the happy medium in between not wanting to lose them, and not wanting their last years to be miserable by our "shoulds" is a hard road to hoe for children - and I am sure we will do it to our kids (without meaning to).

Teach your parents well
Their children's hell
Will slowly go by
and feed them on your dreams
The one they pick
The one you'll know by.
Don't you ever ask them why
If they told you, you would cry
So just look at them and sigh
And know they love you
And know they love you
And know they love you.

I never realized just how much I would miss my mother, until she was gone. And, even after 14 years, come this November 30th, things still happen where I forget, and my mind automatically thinks "Oh, I should tell mom", and then realize that I cannot.

We do what we can - they do what they want :D

Beth,
Thankyou.
It was this in particular that led me to think about my own life last Dec.
I made a career change of a sort simply because of that look.
I decided that the only things I have to regret are the things I didn't do...
and so decided to do some of the things I would look back and regret not having at least tried.

I am learning a great many important life lessons.
That to me has made the change worth while.

OD,

I'm with you - in fact, ironically, my mother is my teacher for what you are talking about.

She worked hard, all her life, with the plan that, when she retired, she would travel and see the United States - but by the time she did retire, she was not healthy enough to do so.

I promised myself that that was not going to be my way of life.

The road not traveled yet, is the one that I want to take.

Or, like you put it, so well:

I decided that the only things I have to regret are the things I didn't do...
