Saw this Black Wasp dragging a fresh kill of a spider on the edge of the front porch. Poor spider.
Yeah I believe I saw that on a nature show once, where the wasp paralyzed a spider to be food for it's young. Some time ago I watched a spider run and hide in a hole and the wasp went in and drug it out. Usually it's the other way around in the bug world, where the spider is the threat to all other insects.Saddest thing is the spider is only paralyzed. The wasp wants it fresh to feed the wasp larvae that hatches out on the spider. Lots of wasp species do this. Nice pic, Grant.
