I have used the polyproplyne replacement method before and it worked to a degree the "paper"
came out pretty stiff and flaky and soon fell apart the others we had to seal in plastic to keep them from disintegrating

if the paper is still in bundels you have a better chance for the inside ones
if the paper is damp or wet keep it that way with distilled water in a container you can see through Ie. fish tank
change the water every few days with out disturbing the bundle
after all of the minerilazed salts have been leached out of the water and the paper You can get the litmus tester at a fish/animal store
start to add a 5% solution of polypropline glychol( antifreeze with this listed as the # one ingredient) and change the water mix every week or so adding 5% more of the solution each time until you get to 15% then back it down with a few rinses in fresh distilied water when seperating the paper verry carefully with a plastic spatula and let dry out in the air laying flat with a low degree of humidity
look on the internet for Preserving of "paper"
Hope this helps
