just go ahead and stop by, some landowners are pretty friendly, i have found a few here in florida that are willing to let you if you just ask them nicely..gregg..HH

Oh man to hunt around Vicksburg would be a holly grail. and if only you could hunt the caves. 
1st get you a map of the battle sites and lines around town then cross that old map with a new one and start asking in those areas.
Some of them old plowed fields on the less traveled back roads would be your best bet for great finds, easy access places have probably been hunted.
